Side effects are part of any medications taken today. Keeping this
in view Clobetasol has also some side effects which are necessary to
keep in mind while treating with this medication. Having a knowledge
of this will not only help to understand the side effects and
symptoms but will also help to know which effects need to be
consulted through a doctor.
The doctor should be immediately consulted and the medication should
be stopped in case of severe irritation of skin, blurred vision,
puffiness on the face accompanied with swelling, or muscle weakness.
In case the medication starts to pore down the blood it also mix’s
with it giving rise to weight gain but this is a very rare
possibility. Some also experience mood swings and sleeping problems
also called as insomania.
Some of very less serious side effects caused due to Clobetasol are
rashes on the skin, itiching and burning problem in the initial
stages of starting the treatment, redness or dryness in the skin,
changing of the skin nature (it may turn to smooth and soft), at
times skin rashes are seen surrounding the mouth, spider veins and
also stretch marks.
Some also experience swollen hair follicles change in the color of
the skin, blisters or pimples. Crusting of the treated skin area is
also a part of such experiences. Some other possible side effects
are the acne form aruption, fissuring, Erythema, folliculitis,
Hypertrichosis and hypopigmentation.Some secondary reactions or
infections can take place like striae, stinging, Pruritus, skin
atrophy or the telangiectasia.
